Eyelash Review

Eyelash Review

Let’s review the only products I have ever used for lash growth and before we jump right into it, please remember that these are my personal opinions and thoughts.  What works for me may not work for you.  So now…let’s jump right into it!

The first lash growth product I used was the Enhancements Lash Boost from Rodan + Fields.  First of all, the price will be deceiving and it makes you question yourself more than once if you should spend this amount on a product!!  Wonder if it doesn’t work? (thank goodness you can send back if you do encounter any issues).  Will it last a while or will I run out of the product one month in??

Let me tell you, this Lash Boost is a MIRACLE!  Just purchasing my second tube, the first go around went great!  I can’t tell you how many compliments I received and how noticeable my lashes were – people even thought I got lash extensions!  I mean seriously….look at those lashes!!

Originally, I was using this serum each night, every single day.  About a month in, my lashes grew so long that when I was wearing my glasses, they would hit the frame so I changed my routine to every other night instead of every night.

Negative effects from the Lash Boost…the only real concern was about a month into using the product, my eyes would turn blood shot.  It was the strangest thing because I would put a very thin layer on my lash line each night and that was it.  About 6pm or later, my eyes would turn so red (but not irritated) and I am assumed it was a reaction to some ingredient but not for certain.  Because I loved what it did to my lashes, I jumped in and bought my second tube.  I am interested to see if the red eyes continues!  Will keep you ALL posted!

Second product…thanks Mom, is the Lash Serum by Younique.

I began using this product every night as well as every morning.  And unfortunately, I can’t say I am a fan or on board for this serum.  I saw no different in growth; however, I did notice some breakage from one eye.  My right eye’s lashes seem to be a bit longer (not as extreme in length as they were with the lash boost) but the left eye has had significant breakage and you can tell a huge different in the lengths of each eye.

The applicator is like a mascara wand, which I was excited for because I felt it would apply nicely and evenly.  As expected, it did, my lashes would be soaked in the serum and I would go to bed – some nights I would have slight irritation but nothing out of the blue.  Waking up in the morning, I noticed that my lashes would be lumped together to I would have to take a makeup wipe and swipe over my lashes to remove any excess product – if I didn’t applying mascara was not pretty!!

Overall, I can’t say I will purchase this product again as I saw no significant change.  Although, I did appreciate the price as it was $58 dollars cheaper than the Lash Boost.

Personal opinion, the Rodan and Fields option is a bit on the steeper side of the overall cost; however, I showed immediate results and loved what I was getting from the product.  As for the Younnique brand, it was not a product worth the while for me.

Share your opinions below!  Is there another product you may have used that I did not list above?  I would love to know what works for you!

Let’s Talk About H20!

Let’s Talk About H20!

Trying to intake the amount of water I need in liters each day seems like a struggle in itself!  Why not just insert a catheter because sometimes, my day does not allow for 15 bathroom breaks – and trust me, my bladder needs it!

So many different health magazines and physicians will tell you a different amount of water you should drink daily.  So really, how much water should you be drinking??

  1. For every pound you weigh, each day, you should drink that in ounces.  150lbs = 150 ounces of water
  2. Aim to drink 8 ounces of water each day
  3. Men should drink 104 ounces; which is 13 cups of water a day!
  4. 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of water each day for women

So why is drinking water so important?  Before I go on, I want to make known that I am not an H20 expert and I have never stuck to my daily water in-take.  However, starting this month, I am hoping to kick that bad habit.

Drinking water not only helps individuals lose weight, but increases healthy skin and fights infection.  Can hep get rid of bad toxins in the body and keep your heart healthy.  Join and arthritis pains can be prevented and your energy will increase.  Water in-take can also help prevent constipation, reduce your risk of cancer and improve your productivity!  With all of these benefits, why don’t we jump on the band wagon sooner!?

Tips for drinking your daily water:

  • Drink 2 cups (16 ounces) before every meal
  • Don’t just consume your water intake in the morning – you have to remember the afternoon and nighttime!
  • Keep track!
  • Infuse your water with a flavor – lemon water; yes please!
  • Add bubbles to your water for drinking throughout the day

Ready. Set. Go pour yourself a tall glass of water right now!
